Broadway on Tour a Popular Choice

Broadway is the oldest north-south main thoroughfare in the city of New York, dating to the first New Amsterdam settlement. The name Broadway is the English literal translation of the Dutch name, Breede weg. A stretch of Broadway is famous as the pinnacle of the American theater industry. A theater is called Broadway if it lies between the 41st street and 54th street and between Sixth and Eighth Street Avenues, and has a minimum of 499 seats (there are exceptions).

Broadway in New York is always alive with popular theatre shows both new and old. The immense popularity of the Broadway shows has led to the great demand of its tickets. The box office revenues are usually high as locals and visitors to New York City line up to visit the herald Broadway area and see if a show. While this remains constant what is constantly changing is the cities that the touring Broadway performances go. Some of the more popular shows are Wicked, Mary Poppins, The Lion King, Jersey Boys, Legally Blond, Dreamgirls and other assorted Broadway classics as well.
